Join our expert tour guide in the hotel lobby in Cairo or any location in Cairo or Giza early in the morning to begin your unforgettable journey to the Fayoum Oasis, Egypt's largest oasis. Known for its lush landscape and rich history, Fayoum was once the domain of Sobek, the crocodile god. Over the centuries, it has flourished, especially thanks to the reforms introduced by Muhammad Ali Pasha nearly two centuries ago.
Our first stop will be the charming village of Tunis. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the art of pottery, learning about traditional techniques passed down through generations. This picturesque village offers a unique glimpse into Fayoum’s rich artisan heritage.
Next, we’ll head to Lake Qarun, one of the world’s oldest natural lakes and Egypt’s third-largest. Enjoy the tranquil beauty of this a
ncient lake, a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Around midday, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Tunis Village. Afterward, we’ll visit Wadi El Rayan, a protected natural wonder since 1989. Located about 42 meters below sea level, Wadi El Rayan is known for its unique ecosystem and its stunning waterfalls—Egypt’s only ones—created by diverted agricultural runoff in the 1970s. These majestic waterfalls, linking two lakes, offer a breathtaking oasis in the desert.
For a touch of adventure, you’ll also have the chance to try sandboarding on the golden dunes of Wadi El Rayan—a thrilling experience to remember. As the day comes to a close, we’ll return to Cairo, completing your extraordinary journey with a scenic two-hour road trip back.
