Itinerary
in the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your unforgettable tour.
**Prince Muhammad Ali Palace (Manual Palace)**
This magnificent palace was built by Prince Muhammad Ali, one of Egypt’s most notable figures. Now a museum, it consists of six buildings: the Reception Palace, the Clock Tower, the Mosque, the Hunting Museum, the Presidential Palace, and the Private Museum. Surrounded by lush gardens, the palace is a masterpiece of architecture and design.
**Garbage City in Cairo**
Located in the Mokattam Mountain, Garbage City was established in 1976 and is home to the largest church in Egypt and the Middle East, capable of holding 20,000 people. Every Sunday, Christians gather here for worship. To reach the monastery, you’ll pass through the Zabbaleen, an area where Cairo’s waste collectors live and work. While the area can have a strong smell due to its purpose, it offers a unique glimpse into the lives of those who manage the city’s waste. From the heights of Mokattam Mountain, enjoy panoramic views of Cairo.
**City of the Dead**
This hauntingly unique area, known as the City of the Dead, is a cemetery where people live among the tombs. The mausoleums resemble homes, and this living graveyard offers a surreal experience of Cairo’s lesser-known history.
**Baron Empain Palace**
For fans of ancient architecture, the Baron Empain Palace is a must-see. Built in the Hindu style, inspired by Angkor Wat, this striking palace was designed by a French architect for a Belgian industrialist involved in Egypt’s railway project. Surrounded by intriguing stories, it’s said that the Baron’s spirit still haunts the palace.
**Lunch**
We’ll take a break and enjoy a delicious Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included), offering a chance to recharge before continuing our journey.
**Islamic Cairo**
One of my favorite parts of Cairo, the historic Islamic Quarter, offers a treasure trove of monuments. On Al-Muizz Street, you’ll discover mosques, Islamic schools, palaces, and hammams—each telling its own story from Cairo’s rich past.
**Khan El Khalili Bazaar**
No visit to Cairo is complete without exploring the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar. This bustling market is always full of energy, with both locals and tourists shopping for everything from spices to handmade crafts. It’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in Cairo’s lively atmosphere and pick up some unique souvenirs.
After a day full of exploration, we’ll return you to your hotel in Cairo.
