In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your exciting tour to explore the ancient wonders of Egypt.

Saqqara Pyramid

First, we’ll head to Saqqara, part of the Memphis necropolis. Here, you’ll visit the iconic Step Pyramid of Djoser, one of the earliest pyramids ever built. Standing at about 60 meters tall, this remarkable structure, designed by the renowned architect Imhotep, dates back to around 2650 BC. It served as a prototype for later pyramids and was part of a grand ceremonial complex.

Lunch

After exploring the Pyramids of Saqqara, we’ll break for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Egyptian cuisine (drinks not included).

Ancient Memphis

Following lunch, we’ll continue to Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom (3100–2040 BC). Memphis was the site of the coronation of all pharaohs, and according to tradition, it was founded by the first pharaoh, Narmer. In Memphis, you’ll see the colossal statue of Ramses II, an 11-meter-high pink granite statue that once stood in the Great Temple of Ptah. It was moved to Memphis for preservation after being damaged by erosion in Cairo.

Bent Pyramid

Next, we’ll head to Dahshur, home to the Bent Pyramid. This pyramid, built by Pharaoh Sneferu, is 90 meters tall and is one of the largest pyramids in Egypt. Its unique design marks an important step in pyramid evolution.

Red Pyramid

Finally, we’ll visit the nearby Red Pyramid, also built by Sneferu. This pyramid is an important milestone in the development of pyramid construction, transitioning from the stepped design of the Bent Pyramid to the true smooth-sided pyramids. Standing at 105 meters tall, it is Egypt’s third-largest pyramid and is named for the reddish hue of its limestone.

After this enriching tour, we’ll return to your hotel, concluding a day full of history, architecture, and fascinating discoveries.
